Blog Candy Birthday Card

Birthday card for a friend who just happens to like the colours of pink and green and I think this just fits the bill.

Not had a chance to look for candy today as I have been quiet busy getting all my stuff ready to study, I start soon and the preparation takes me ages plus had a quick look at my books and my online work and it's mind boggling at the moment, but once I get into it, it just seems to flow, well I hope it will.
See ya later

Cuttlebug Challenge Blog Hop Weekend

Cuttlebug Challenge is doing a blog hop weekend, rules below, why not come and join me on the trail.
To begin, we invite all of you to visit our design team blogs.. starting at 7 AM EST time. They have made some wonderful projects to share with you and like the Amazing Race, once you visit each Design team blog, you will be given a word..What is the word for? Well collect all of them and it will form a quote along with the Artist Name. How fun and so very easy to do! Once you've collected all the words, we will draw the name of 3 people that have sent in the quote correctly!

Valentines Challenge

This is a card I did for the Creative Insperations , Craft Creations and Cute Card Thursday great blogs you should go check them out. The theme was Valentines, I inked the edges of the heart and the square hearts in black. I also did the inside page too so you can have the front like this

ATC

This is an ATC I made for Arty Girlz Challenge the ribbon and beads are recycled from my christmas crackers and some bits from a project I was working on, the edges are embossed with bronze.

I also made 6 of these for a swap at the Cropstop forum (with bits left over from a project I was working on and some recycled bits) at the begining of the year and had some bits left over, just enough for another one for this challenge.

Stamped card

This card is my tenth attempt at colouring and shading but to be quiet honest I having troubling shading and I am not getting the colours right. I am not getting on with my whisper pens and it's come to a point I really don't want to use them. I have cut out the image and only attached it very lightlybecause I know I will replace it lol.

I shall try again tommorow and maybe change the card stock, what card stock does everyone else use, just normal or other.

Help needed

As some of you know I have just started stamping but I am having trouble with the filling in of colours, I use whisper pens and maybe some of you lovely ladies can help me. I have been doing a face today, so a darker colour for the edges and then with a paint brush and a little water blending into the middle but it looked like a muddy pile with a red bit in the middle for cheeks agggg.
Do I put the colour on the paper with the brush or the paint brush over the pen, or use all pen? or am I doing this total wrong, hope you understand that lol. I know their are some very talented blog ladies out there and I could use all the help I can get please.
Next I tried chalks this went ok but not really good for the fines lines. Tommorow I shall by some normal colouring pencils oh I do have water coloured pencils too, can Inuse these? just remembered them.
Got really frustrated so I made a card another baby girl one and I entered into the Caardvarks challenge blog which is called Polke Dots.

Baby girl card I finally got round to posting, the elephant is a cuttlebug die cut which I did 2 of pink and 1 of stripes and separated them with thin padded squares, the paper is some I had left over and adorned with pink dotted ribbon and tied little bows. I did not do a tag this time but a mini card to go with it. I also have in the cuttlebug set a lion giraffe and a monkey, now I was thinking of using these on the baby cards but not too sure, what do you think?

Mother card

I was feeling home sick today and was thinking about my mother so I made her a card, I have been an expat for the past 18 years and sometimes you get to thinking about all the things you miss like your mother, brothers (sometimes lol), son, grandkids, sherbet with the liquorish stick (can you still get them), frys turkish delight, glue dots as I have run out and most of all the craft shops, especially going round them with my friend as I always spend more than I should, as she says you need this and this. Anyway I had a good craft day did a few cards and layouts, which I shall show later.

Cuttlebug, Pink Card, Blog Challenges and Candy

Two of my designs from today are one I did one for the Charisma Cards at http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/ and Stamp Something at http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/01/no-stamping-allowed-challenge.html which had a Pink theme and the Cuttlebug Challenge and this week the sketch was set by the talented Aymee.

This will be a quick post and I will be back later with a design I am working on.
I was doing my usual trawl of blogs to see the wondefull designs and popped over to Vicki's at
http://validationofvicki.blogspot.com/ and noticed see was advertizing a fantastic blog candy at Elisabeth's http://www.zhibit.org/elisabethbell/blog so I went to investigate and it's fantastic so go look for yourselfs and see what see is offering. Anyway while I was there I went to look at her Whiff of Joy Stamps Web Site at http://www.shop.whiffofjoy.com/index.php wow they are fantastic and so much choice, now if I can only decide which to purchase lol.
All for now as I must go and shut the doors as it has started to rain, yes rain in Bahrain and a bit cold for us today.

Engagement,Cuttlebug and stamping.

Engagement Card I did for our son and his new fiancé.

First I stamped the card corners with Pink ink and then embossed a piece of card with the cuttlebug hearts folder and used a corner punch for decoration. For the inner card I cut a piece of red card for the base and a piece of white card a fraction smaller and put it through the cuttlebug again then used the same punch for the corners and adhered it to the red card with 3D dots, added the rose and three hearts shaped gems. Tied a ribbon round the card and adhered the whole lot to the base card finely stuck a red and pink heart to top of the ribbon and added the sentiment.

For the inside I usually print straight onto the card but for some reason my printer was playing up and would not print the dimensions I wanted (still trying to figure that one out) so I printed the message onto pink copy card and stamped the image round the outside finishing of with a heart embellishment.

Cuttlebug Card,Blog Challenge Sites, Male Card

Cuttlebug Card,Blog Challenge Sites, Male Card.
I bring you a card using the cuttlebug embossing folders and it also happens to be a male one which I find hard to do sometimes but this one was different as the idea came quickly so I had to make it straight away before the mojo left me lol.
I embossed the background with the Happy Birthday folder the I embossed the striped shirt paper with the swiss dots to make it look like seersucker. I went on to fold the shirt and add the buttons and pocket complete with hankie finely added the stamped saying onto contrasting card.
This one is for my brother as it's his Birthday soon and I hope he likes it.
I also entered it for the Cuttlebug challenge, if you too would like to enter or just browse this great blog go to: http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ .

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope you had a good one as we did with our friends, this is their last week and it will be a month they have been staying with us and we have enjoyed every moment of it, we will be sad to see them go.
We have some exiting news as our son proposed to his girlfriend on New Years Eve and she said yes, hurray. They plan to get married in September of this year and hubby will be starting his diet soon (so he says) lol.
I made my first ever ATC's for a swap at Cropstop, great web site forum hosted by Haylie-Jo
and she has a great store with lots of wonderful crafting goodies.

I used left over paper a bit of bronze embbosing powder, some decorative leafs I had knocking about from another project and lastly ribbons and jewels from my christmas crackers.

Have a great New Year and all the best for 2009 and hope you have lots of creative crafting times.
